Despite the fact that Pinterest has been around for a few years now, it’s just recently started to make its way past being a creative outlet for individuals and into the world of business marketing. However, as soon as businesses started to see the potential, they quickly hopped on the pinning bandwagon.

The results of integrating Pinterest into marketing have been outstanding, and it’s quickly becoming the “go-to” marketing tool for companies everywhere.

If you haven’t yet started using Pinterest as part of your marketing campaign, here are five tips why you should:

1. It’s a great way to compel customers to actually purchase a product.

Email marketing, flyers, Facebook posts, tweets, and other traditional marketing tactics are all great ways to get the word out about your company, but they don’t always translate into actual dollars earned. With Pinterest, however, users click on a photograph that has been pinned and are automatically sent over to the website where they can view the tutorial, purchase the product, or locate the services.  Being sent to the actual website with the products or services helps boost the conversion rate from marketing to sales.

2. You can merge Pinterest with other social media accounts.

You can automatically connect your Pinterest account with other social media forums, making it easy to reach a much broader audience than just your Pinterest followers when you upload new pins to your account. When your accounts are merged and your pins auto-upload to Twitter as well, for instance, then you’ve managed to touch both your Pinterest followers and your Twitter followers. This makes it much easier for your followers to share information with their followers, thus reaching an even larger number of people.

3. Pinterest makes sharing easy.

In addition to your followers on Twitter and Pinterest being able to share your pins with ease, consumers can also pin for you with the popular “pin it” button. By adding this sharing button to blog posts, product pictures, and anything else that is pinnable, your products and services are much more likely to get pinned to Pinterest by others. Once something gets pinned once it has the opportunity to go viral, giving you unlimited marketing potential.

4. You can pin far beyond just products and services.

In addition to pinning your products and services in an effort to entice people to use your business, you can also pin photographs of company events, satisfied customers, behind the scenes looks at your business, and anything else that adds a human aspect to your company. You also can pin coupons or deals that are exclusive to your Pinterest followers, giving them incentive to go beyond just looking at your products or services and actually purchasing them instead. Being open with potential customers and humanizing your company makes you much more likeable and approachable as a business.

5. You can gain helpful feedback from consumers.

Another way to get customers to actually interact with your company is to pin things that are a work in progress with your business and ask for their feedback. This helps establish a more personal relationship with your customers, showing them that their input is important to you, which will help create brand loyalty.

If you haven’t jumped on the Pinterest bandwagon yet, now is the time. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by utilizing this social media forum to bolster up your marketing efforts.
